Terms of Service

1. The service

Phaeto is a tool that helps job seekers tailor resumes to specific roles, measure fit, and discover warm introductions to companies they're targeting. Features and limits depend on your plan tier.

2. Your content, your rights

You retain full ownership of the content you supply to Phaeto, including your resume, job descriptions, imported contacts, and tailored outputs. By uploading content you grant us a narrow license to process that content solely to deliver the features you request. We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell your content.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Phaeto to:

• Submit content that is illegal, fraudulent, or violates the rights of others.
• Import contacts you do not have a reasonable basis to hold (for example, purchased lead lists).
• Attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt the service.
• Share your account with others or resell access.
• Circumvent tier limits or plan gating.

4. AI output

Phaeto's tailored resumes, Fit Scores, and other AI-generated results are produced by third-party models (OpenAI or Anthropic). AI output may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing every output before sending it to a real recruiter or hiring manager. Phaeto does not guarantee job outcomes.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Free accounts are subject to monthly run limits. Paid plans (Pro and Premier) raise those limits and unlock additional features. iOS subscriptions are processed by Apple under Apple's terms. Web subscriptions are processed by our payment provider. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current period; we do not prorate refunds for partial periods.

Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) is available on any tier and bypasses run limits. Under BYOK, any usage charges from the AI provider are billed directly to you by that provider, outside Phaeto.

6. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time by emailing mike@modernsoftware.me. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that expose the service or its users to risk.

7. Warranty disclaimer

Phaeto is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Phaeto's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continuing to use Phaeto after a change indicates acceptance.
